About the Role
We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Asset Assessment Officer with a background in asset inspections, civil maintenance, or infrastructure to join our team. This role is integral to supporting the Council's transport and infrastructure departments by carrying out safety, condition, and compliance assessments of Council assets. You will respond to customer inquiries and ensure precise field data collection that helps in asset management and maintenance scheduling.

- Permanent full-time employment (35 hours weekly)
- A salary package starting at $3,210.88 gross per fortnight, with potential progression to $3,853.06 gross per fortnight, complemented by 12% superannuation contributions

Key Responsibilities
- Performing safety, Operational Condition Index (OCI), and compliance inspections on Council infrastructure
- Detecting hazards, defects, and areas of non-compliance and escalating risks when necessary
- Logging precise inspection details, photographs, and supplementary data into the asset management system
- Handling inquiries and service requests relating to Council infrastructure
- Generating reports and keeping detailed records of inspections and customer interactions
- Collaborating with internal teams to plan and coordinate maintenance operations and communicate inspection results
- Delivering excellent customer service and supporting ongoing improvement efforts
Candidate Profile
- Possession of relevant qualifications in civil infrastructure, asset maintenance, spatial information services, or related areas
- Valid Class C Driver's Licence and a Construction Induction (White Card)
- Experience conducting field inspections and data collection with proficiency in GIS, GPS, or asset management platforms
- Strong understanding of civil infrastructure assets, including ability to identify defects, assess risks, and set maintenance priorities
- Excellent organizational, time management, and administrative capabilities
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards and quality customer outcomes
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Asset Management are advantageous but not mandatory
