Job description

About EDB

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Its work focuses on strengthening Singapore’s standing as an international hub for business, innovation, and talent. EDB supports investment promotion and industry development, and partners with overseas and local companies by sharing market insights, connecting them with relevant partners, and helping them access government incentives for their investment plans. Its broader goal is to drive sustainable economic growth while creating a strong business environment and quality employment opportunities in Singapore.

About New Ventures

Businesses around the world are being reshaped by technology and changing commercial models. As a result, many organisations need to build new revenue lines and launch new businesses. The EDB New Ventures team exists to support this shift by encouraging corporate venture building and new venture creation in Singapore.

The team helps companies explore corporate venturing through joint venture-building sprints, co-investment arrangements that share the early-stage risk of growth ventures, and active portfolio value creation to help ventures scale. In addition, the team develops outreach approaches, programmes, and community-building efforts to expand awareness and improve ecosystem capabilities in corporate venturing.

What you will be doing

This position is intended to provide operational and administrative support to the internal team. The main areas of work include research, document coordination, calendar and event support, and general team operations.

  • Assist senior team members with both quantitative and qualitative research, including preparing assessments and support materials.
  • Help with due diligence activities for New Ventures initiatives.
  • Prepare materials before and after meetings with companies, founders, and investors.
  • Track submission of required documents and review them against investment documents and internal guidelines.
  • Handle company performance and incentive reporting.
  • Compile data, maintain databases, and keep files well organised and properly documented.
  • Coordinate meeting and travel schedules for the team.
  • Oversee the founder community event calendar and event logistics.
  • Create sales-enablement collateral to help the team engage with founders.
  • Support other operational work as needed, including Business Continuity Plan efforts.

Additional considerations

Applicants who can contribute beyond basic support duties will be viewed more favourably. This includes candidates who can improve team processes or introduce new tools to make operations more efficient, as well as those who have experience dealing independently with external stakeholders in client- or partner-facing settings.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Training in Business Administration, Event Management, Communications, or Risk Management, either academically or professionally, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with good internet literacy.
  • A collaborative mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Comfort with change, ambiguity, and evolving priorities.
  • Excellent command of both English and Mandarin.
  • Singaporean citizenship.

Application process

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and interviews may be conducted as they come in. Candidates can expect to hear back within 8 weeks from the date they apply.
