About the Innovation Strategy & Partnerships Division
This division is responsible for shaping EDB’s direction toward an economy powered by innovation. It develops approaches that improve the innovation ecosystem so that foreign companies can create new products, services, and businesses in Singapore.
Role Overview
This position focuses on building strategy and partnerships that strengthen Singapore’s innovation economy. You will work on research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and cross-agency collaboration to identify opportunities and help shape policies and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The role is an individual contributor position. In addition to core strategy work, you may also be asked to handle secretariat responsibilities and help set agendas for inter-agency platforms.
Strategy Development
- Use research and engagement with stakeholders to identify gaps in Singapore’s innovation ecosystem, including areas such as partnerships and intellectual property.
- Study and interpret findings to shape practical recommendations and solutions.
- Work with internal teams and external partners, such as industry groups, other government bodies, and business stakeholders, to build value propositions.
Planning and Data Analysis
- Examine project data to understand EDB’s role in innovation and to identify the needs of industries and companies.
- Assess the impact of R&D and innovation policies, and map Singapore’s strengths in the innovation space.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as design thinking, strategy or product development, innovation, IP or technology commercialisation, corporate planning, or policy analysis.
- Ability to work with quantitative data tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Python is advantageous.
- Strong motivation to contribute to initiatives that advance Singapore’s innovation economy.
- Good commercial awareness, along with strong analytical and conceptual reasoning abilities.
- Self-driven and resourceful, with the ability to turn ideas into action.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence in engaging stakeholders at different seniority levels.
- Comfortable working in an agile, collaborative environment and open to learning, testing, and experimentation.
- Singaporean citizenship is required.
