Project Manager, Elementary English Language Arts (ELA)

Position Summary

The Project Manager for Elementary English Language Arts (ELA) plays a pivotal role in supporting and guiding educators statewide to deliver high-quality elementary language arts education. This role ensures the effective implementation of the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) in classrooms across the state while coordinating with multiple stakeholders to maintain alignment with state literacy goals and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead professional development efforts to assist elementary educators in adopting best practices for language arts instruction.
• Create and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and materials to help teachers integrate the Oklahoma Academic Standards into their curricula.
• Collaborate with curriculum specialists to guarantee instructional resources and assessments are aligned with OAS for ELA.
• Work alongside other literacy programs within the State Department of Education to ensure coherent literacy strategies statewide.
• Analyze student performance and instructional data to guide improvements and monitor progress toward educational goals.
• Engage with district officials, instructional coaches, and other partners to support successful language arts instruction implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline (official transcripts required upon hiring).
• Possession of a valid Oklahoma teaching or administrative certificate.
• A minimum of four years of experience teaching or coordinating curriculum and instruction within PK-12 education.
• Authorization to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship.
• Completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license to facilitate necessary travel.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) both within and outside the state.

Physical and Work Environment

• Position based in Oliver Hodge Education Building, Oklahoma City, requiring consistent on-site presence.
• Physical requirements include standing, reaching, and bending around 50% of the work time.
• Regular computer and office equipment use for approximately 75% of work hours.
• Ability to navigate stairs approximately 25% of the time and lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and adaptability are essential cognitive requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary of $67,200.
