Role Overview
As the Project Manager for Clinical Research New Site Build within the Cardiology service line, you will oversee the complete development of new Cardiology research sites. Reporting to the VP of Growth, you will lead all phases of site development including site selection, facility preparation, regulatory approval, staffing, technology setup, and study initiation. This role requires coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and fully operational site launches. Ideal candidates are experienced project managers with a passion for clinical research expansion, specifically within cardiovascular care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire project lifecycle for opening new Cardiology clinical research sites, from start to operational readiness.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments for each site.
- Collaborate across Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Real Estate, Facilities, IT, HR, Procurement, and Business Development teams.
- Work closely with Real Estate and Facilities to ensure sites are appropriately designed, constructed, and equipped for clinical research activities.
- Oversee all site activation procedures, including licensing, regulatory compliance, technology deployment, equipment purchase, SOP implementation, and workflow optimization.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding with HR to ensure sites are staffed adequately before launch.
- Partner with Clinical Operations leadership on study startup readiness, investigator integration, and training for research staff.
- Identify risks and dependencies and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Conduct regular cross-functional project meetings and provide executive summary updates to leadership.
- Develop standard operating procedures, templates, and project management tools for scalable site expansion.
- Manage budgets, resource distribution, and vendor relationships throughout the site development process.
- Support continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality of site launches.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
- 5 to 8+ years of project management experience in healthcare, clinical research, life sciences, healthcare operations, or facility development.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience in project planning, milestone tracking, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Influence and lead teams without direct authority.
- Adaptable with excellent problem-solving and decision-making talents.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Background in launching new healthcare facilities, physician practices, ambulatory care centers, or clinical research sites.
- Cardiology clinical research or cardiovascular healthcare familiarity.
- Knowledge of clinical trial startup processes, GCP, FDA regulations, and site activation procedures.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Proficiency with project management platforms such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
- Experience with CTMS, electronic regulatory systems, and clinical research technology.

Compensation
The pay range for this position in New York is $80,000 to $110,000 USD annually.
