Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Project Leads to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis based at the Balcatta office, with necessary site travel. The ideal candidate will have a trade certification or background.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are managed safely, compliantly, and effectively for a major mining client in the Pilbara region.
- Implement and adapt comprehensive project management services across multiple sites for the Sodexo Project Team.
- Define project scopes, plan, estimate budgets, schedule, and oversee performance for various projects, including housing and village accommodation refurbishments, critical infrastructure upgrades, major civil works such as carpark enhancements, airport upgrades, central facility improvements including dining rooms, kitchens and wet mess, and numerous minor works projects.
- Complete projects meeting client expectations, company goals, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships.
- Procure required resources and form effective project teams.
- Authorize construction planning, programming, schedules, subcontractor engagements, including major variations.
- Support clients by standardizing Project Management services ensuring consistent quality and cost control.
- Assist contract management for deliverable projects.
- Promote and contribute to safety improvements through initiatives like safety walks, targeting a zero-accident culture.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualification in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering; Construction/Project Management; Quantity Surveying, or extensive verified experience in project management.
- Proven track record managing projects across multiple sites, preferably within the mining sector.
- Strong financial aptitude with experience delivering on profit and loss responsibilities.
- Expertise in preparing, evaluating tenders, quotes, and bids.
- High ethical standards and firm understanding of corporate processes.
- Professional business acumen in client relationship development, including definition, measurement, implementation, and control of improvement initiatives.
- Excellent business case presentation and proactive communication skills enabling effective negotiation to attain positive client outcomes.
