Overview
This leadership role involves overseeing government relations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing partner commitments for company activities based in Syria. The position serves as the primary liaison with governmental institutions to secure necessary approvals and maintain adherence to applicable laws and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain strong partnerships with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Manage and expedite processing of approvals, permits, and formal documentation submissions.
- Guarantee compliance with local legislation and contract terms, including Production Sharing Agreements and shareholder pacts.
- Assist senior management during negotiations and dialogue with governmental stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of regulatory modifications and evaluate associated risks.
- Collaborate with internal divisions to enforce compliance and governance protocols.
- Compile and present detailed reports relating to government affairs, compliance status, and risk evaluations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in managing government relations and engaging diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Experienced in contract administration, with emphasis on Production Sharing Agreements and other agreements.
- Skilled negotiator with strong influencing capabilities.
- Adept at risk analysis and resolving complex issues.
- Committed to maintaining high ethical standards and integrity.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Capacity to operate efficiently in sensitive and multifaceted environments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Possess a Bachelor's degree related to the field.
- At least 10 years of experience in government affairs, legal compliance, or related sectors.
- Background in energy, oil and gas, or infrastructure industries.
- Familiarity with Syrian regulatory policies and procedures.
