Job Overview

The South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a Program Reentry Coordinator to manage staff supervision and maintain caseloads while facilitating reentry programming for offenders nearing release. The position is based at the Camille Griffin Correctional Institution in Columbia, SC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff performance and maintain active caseload management.
  • Ensure evidence-based programming and related services are accessible to offenders within 24 months of release.
  • Deliver hands-on program implementation and oversight essential for inmate rehabilitation.
  • Record all relevant activities and assessments in the Offender Management System.
  • Conduct program-specific lectures for offender education.
  • Coordinate discharge and aftercare referrals focusing on community reintegration, including employment, housing, and vocational rehabilitation through SCDC partnerships.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams for program assessment and to provide case management input.
  • Recruit community volunteers to support beneficial inmate programs.
  • Respond promptly to information requests.
  • Complete assigned monthly reporting and attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Successful completion of a four-week SCDC Basic Training program is required upon hiring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant program development and oversight experience, or
  • Associate's degree with at least three years of applicable experience, or
  • High school diploma with a minimum of five years relevant experience in program development, implementation, and oversight.
  • Must have at least three years of supervisory experience.
