Overview

The University of South Carolina system, encompassing eight institutions across 20 locations statewide, is dedicated to transforming communities through education and service. The Department of Exercise Science invites applications for a Program Coordinator position to support several research projects under the Arnold Healthy Kids Initiative. This role is essential in managing various aspects of research studies designed to advance pediatric health.

Role Summary

The Program Coordinator will operate under general supervision to manage daily study operations including project planning, participant recruitment and retention, coordinating staff, collecting data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee the day-to-day tasks related to multiple research projects.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating study activities and staff efforts.
  • Maintain project timelines and monitor the quality and progress of research studies.
  • Prepare and manage Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and submissions.
  • Collaborate effectively with investigators, research personnel, and community partners to adhere to project milestones and protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in computer usage and internet applications.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Interest or background in working with young children.
  • Strong verbal communication skills enabling effective interaction with parents, community representatives, children, and the public.
