About the Company

Our client is a reputable German family-owned enterprise known for delivering high-quality and innovative ship construction solutions. Serving a diverse clientele including discerning private individuals and government/military agencies, they maintain a long-standing tradition in the shipbuilding industry. To support their ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Production Planner specializing in shipbuilding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project and order schedules for the manufacturing and modification of ships.
  • Create detailed production timelines for both in-house and outsourced manufacturing, including special solutions.
  • Integrate all planning processes into a comprehensive master schedule considering delivery deadlines and capacity utilization.
  • Monitor, update, and optimize scheduling timelines in close coordination with involved departments.
  • Collaborate with all shipyard departments such as design, manufacturing, costing, procurement, controlling, as well as with service providers, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Manage planning data within planning software tools and ERP systems.
  • Maintain labor hour budgets for design and production teams.
  • Ensure material availability through coordination with production preparation teams.
  • Assume overall responsibility for planning and maintain close communication with project leaders.
  • Provide support on scheduling matters and jointly develop construction strategies and manufacturing concepts with specialty departments.
  • Contribute actively to the enhancement of departmental processes, production and planning methods, and software tools.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant professional experience in shipbuilding, particularly in planning and work preparation.
  • Interest in process management and production organization.
  • Proficiency with planning tools such as MS Project and CAD systems.
