Job description
Position Overview
As a Production Technician I, you will be integral to manufacturing instrument products, ensuring consistent high quality in compliance with GMP protocols. Your duties range from hands-on production and ERP system operations to training support within the Production Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations alongside the Supervisor or Line Leader.
- Lead a team of operators and technicians to meet production targets.
- Interpret technical specs and apply them correctly.
- Investigate yield problems, collaborating with Engineering to find solutions.
- Create troubleshooting guides for operators and technicians.
- Draft procedures and work instructions to guide team members.
- Evaluate processes and suggest improvements.
- Serve as the acting IC when the Line Leader is unavailable.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols among team members.
- Train and mentor Production Operators and Technician I personnel to maintain high-quality output.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure proper training and competency of operators/technicians.
- Maintain and update the training matrix to reflect current training standards.
- Oversee daily or monthly inventory and cycle counts.
- Submit detailed reports relating to daily production activities.
- Ensure assembly and testing adhere to work standards, cGMP, safety policies, and schedules.
- Assist in initial analysis of defective materials to identify causes of failure.
- Partner with supervisors and engineers on controlled experiments to resolve equipment-related quality and yield concerns.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to achieve production objectives.
- Maintain 5S and Lean manufacturing standards daily.
- Operate basic software and ERP systems as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, ISO standards, cGMP, MDSAP, safety policies, and legal regulations.
- Manage precise and timely kitting of materials to support production demand.
- Collaborate on designing and implementing activities related to material kitting.
- Adapt to evolving roles and responsibilities aligned with company goals.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in regulated manufacturing, or
- NTC or ITE Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with minimum 5 years of regulated manufacturing experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in quality management systems adhering to ISO 13485-2016, CFR 21, or cGMP production environments.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- Strong attention to detail and solid troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of production bills of materials and their relation to production processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with new product transfers preferred.
- A proactive team player mindset.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 audits and cGMP environments.
