Job description
About Binti
Binti creates software for state and county government agencies with a focus on improving social services. The company began in child welfare with a mission to help every child have a safe, loving, and stable family. It has supported the approval of more than 100,000 families for fostering or adoption and now serves over 49% of the country’s child welfare system. Binti has since broadened its child welfare products to address issues earlier in the process, helping families stay together and avoid separation, while also expanding into other areas of social services.
Binti is a mission-led, for-profit software company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Its investors include Founders Fund, First Round Capital, Kapor Capital, and others. The team is about 90 people and growing quickly. The company aims to build a workplace where people feel welcomed and can show up as themselves, and it seeks team members who are mission-driven, highly empathetic, strong performers, and low-ego collaborators.
Role Overview
The Product Manager will own the next phase of Binti’s Service Referral Management (SRM) product. This role focuses on growing adoption in new states, improving the closed-loop referral workflow, and helping build a highly effective services platform. The position sits at the crossroads of federal policy, complex multi-party workflows, and meaningful impact for families.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the product vision and roadmap for the SRM offering.
- Turn the needs of caseworkers, agency leaders, private providers, and families into a long-term strategy and a focused quarterly plan.
- Own key outcomes such as referrals sent and completed, FFPSA reimbursement captured, provider response speed, family participation, and time saved for social workers.
- Spot opportunities for AI to improve prevention workflows and work with engineering to implement them responsibly.
- Use AI tools such as Lovable, Claude, Cursor, and v0 to quickly build prototypes and validate concepts with users in days rather than weeks.
- Spend time with caseworkers, supervisors, provider staff, and families to develop deep user understanding, which is essential in this high-stakes domain.
- Design for flexibility and scale so SRM can support each state’s FFPSA prevention plan, eligibility rules, and provider network without creating unnecessary operational complexity.
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of product management experience, ideally in a fast-growing B2B or enterprise SaaS environment. Background in regulated, government-facing, or complex workflow software is a plus.
- Experience scaling products from an early stage to something category-leading.
- Comfort working in multi-sided platforms where different user groups have different permissions, goals, and incentives.
- Strong familiarity with AI-first product development and daily use of tools such as Claude, Cursor, Lovable, or v0.
- Solid user research skills and the ability to convert insights into practical product improvements.
- Versatility to contribute across UX, design, prompt engineering, and project management as needed.
- Strong decision-making around tradeoffs such as vision versus MVP, quantitative versus qualitative signals, customer-specific needs versus platform scale, and configurability versus simplicity.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills for audiences ranging from executives to agency staff.
- Genuine interest in Binti’s mission, values, and collaborative culture.
Location
This position is hybrid. Binti is based in downtown San Francisco, and the role requires working onsite from the San Francisco office on Mondays and Thursdays, with free lunch provided. The rest of the week is remote.
Selection Checks
Candidates who are ultimately selected may need to complete a background and reference review. This can include employment and education verification, criminal history screening, and fingerprinting where relevant.
Benefits and Perks
- Compensation above market levels, including salary and equity.
- Medical, dental, vision, and life coverage, with 99% of premiums paid for employees and dependents.
- Flexible vacation policy to support a healthy work-life balance.
- 13 paid holidays in total, including 11 federal holidays such as Juneteenth, plus Election Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving.
- 16 weeks of paid parental bonding leave for a newborn or newly placed infant.
- Separate sick and mental health time, accruing up to 80 hours.
- Four-week sabbatical after four years with the company.
- 401(k), commuter benefits, FSA, and DCFSA.
- Annual $5,000 bonus for employees who volunteer as a CASA.
- Annual $2,500 learning and development reimbursement, plus access to trainings, conferences, speaker series, and lunch-and-learns.
- $300 reimbursement for initial office setup.
- $50 per month for work-related expenses such as internet, electricity, office setup, or meals/snacks with coworkers.
- Paid jury duty.
