We seek a seasoned Procurement Director to oversee and enhance our global procurement operations, boosting competitiveness amid dynamic international market conditions.

Key Responsibilities

As Procurement Director, you will guide and refine Ponsse's comprehensive procurement activities, encompassing direct and indirect purchasing. Your role involves aligning procurement efforts with corporate goals, managing costs, quality, delivery schedules, and advancing strategic initiatives. Serving on the Operations Leadership Team and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will collaborate extensively with departments including manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, product management, and quality assurance to ensure procurement enhances customer value and operational excellence.

You will also formulate and implement procurement strategies and processes, oversee supplier selection, nurture supplier partnerships, and manage performance, risk, contracts, and compliance. Along with your team, you will ensure procurement practices uphold Ponsse's core values, industry benchmarks, sustainability objectives, and responsible business ethics.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven success in senior procurement leadership within international industrial or manufacturing settings, with experience leading teams.
• Expertise in crafting procurement strategies, supplier and category management, contract oversight, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of heavy machinery, industrial production, supply chain operations, and global supplier landscapes is advantageous.
• Exceptional commercial acumen, analytical abilities, and negotiation skills to balance cost, quality, delivery, risk, and sustainability factors.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Readiness to travel internationally.
• Fluency in English and Finnish; additional language skills are a plus.
