Job Responsibilities

The incumbent will handle a broad spectrum of duties, including assessing offenders, implementing sentences, managing cases, and preparing reports. Supporting medium and lower-risk offenders, the role involves providing practical advice on housing, employment, and offering empathetic listening to facilitate rehabilitation.

Candidate Profile

No formal degree is required; however, candidates should demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience, ideally with experience working with individuals facing social or personal challenges. Ability to produce clear, accurate reports within strict deadlines is essential. Personal qualities are valued over qualifications.

Eligibility and Nationality Requirements

Notably, this role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa from 22 July 2025 unless the candidate has held such a visa continuously before this date. Recruitment Process

Selection includes submission of an application with behavioural and experience questions, completion of the Civil Service Judgement Test (CSJT) assessing decision-making and behaviours, and an interview. Reasonable adjustments are available for the CSJT. Feedback provided only to candidates reaching interview or assessment stages.
