Role overview
The Associate will join the Corner Capital team and contribute across the full investment and advisory process. The role involves research, financial analysis, model building, valuation work and support for investment committee materials and client-facing presentations. You will work directly with founders, management teams and advisory clients on strategic and operational matters, gaining broad exposure from opportunity assessment through execution and portfolio management.
Key responsibilities
- Research industries, markets and businesses to identify potential private equity opportunities and inform investment decisions.
- Carry out detailed financial analysis, develop three-statement models and complete valuation assessments.
- Help shape investment theses for both prospective and existing investments.
- Draft investment committee papers, client presentation materials and other transaction documentation.
- Work with founders, management teams and advisory clients on strategic and operational topics.
- Assist with negotiation, due diligence and transaction execution.
- Track portfolio company performance and review ongoing financial results.
Candidate profile
Applicants should hold a tertiary degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or a closely related discipline, with strong academic achievement. The role requires 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in private equity, an adjacent investment field, M&A advisory or transactional due diligence. Candidates should have a solid understanding of business and investment drivers, strong numerical ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to work independently in a fast-paced team.
Technical requirements
Advanced capability in Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling is essential, along with sound knowledge of investment, financial and corporate finance principles.
