Prison Support Officer - HMP Isle of Wight

About the Role

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Isle of Wight, where you will contribute significantly to the smooth and secure daily operations of a busy prison. This role involves a dynamic mix of responsibilities including security checks, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV footage. Your duties will blend desk-based tasks with physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles throughout the prison grounds.

Driving is integral to this position, thus possessing a full, valid UK driving licence is required.

No formal qualifications are necessary to apply. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate sound judgment and common sense, and work effectively within a team. Flexibility is important as the role includes various shifts, including nights and weekends.
