Overview

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Grendon and Springhill, where you will play a vital role in the daily operations of a dynamic prison environment. This position offers a salary of £29,432 and provides a unique opportunity to contribute to public safety and prison functioning.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining smooth daily operations, including security checks and searches at entry points.
Manage and supervise deliveries, monitor visitor access, and oversee telephone communications and CCTV surveillance.
Perform a blend of administrative tasks alongside physically active duties such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles within prison grounds.
Participate in various shift patterns including nights and weekends to ensure continuous operational support.
Engage in driving duties requiring a full, valid UK driving licence.

Candidate Profile

No formal qualifications are necessary; however, excellent communication skills, composure under pressure, sound judgment, and teamwork are essential qualities. Interaction with prisoners is generally limited but may occur occasionally depending on the facility.
