First Officer A320 - Full-Time Position in Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Overview

The First Officer role involves responsibly operating assigned flights following the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation regulations. The pilot ensures utmost safety, security, and efficiency throughout flights, supports flight and cabin crew, manages emergencies effectively, and maintains a positive company image.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the aircraft from departure to destination adhering to scheduled and approved flight plans, prioritizing safety, operational efficiency, and passenger comfort.
• Conduct flights in strict compliance with airline procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining safe and smooth aircraft operations.
• Ensure punctuality, proper personal grooming, and legal fitness of self and flight crew; perform comprehensive pre-flight briefings.
• Coordinate with co-pilots and dispatch teams before flights providing all necessary information including aircraft technical condition, weather, fuel, routes, and role allocation.
• Optimize fuel usage and efficiency during flights within safety constraints.
• Oversee safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by crew before, during, and after each flight; lead crew response to any irregularities and escalate when necessary.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers, MCC, and MROs to verify aircraft readiness and address any technical issues promptly.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation such as technical logs, journey records, boarding sheets, and reports are maintained according to airline and aviation authority standards.
• Maintain and distribute the Airline Operations Manual, ensuring comprehension and adherence by all flight crew members.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements from civil aviation authorities and other relevant bodies concerning flight operations and crew.
• Perform additional ground duties as Safety Officer or Security Officer as assigned, complying with the Airline Operational Manual.

Qualifications and Training

• Possession of a valid ATPL license is mandatory.
• Successful completion of airline technical and psychometric pilot assessments as per civil aviation standards.
• Pass medical fitness examinations required for pilots by airline and aviation authorities.
• Formal training in safety and emergency response strongly preferred.
• Knowledge or training in airport security procedures advantageous.
• Crew Resource Management (CRM) training is a plus.
• Familiarity with IATA security principles is beneficial.
• Proficient understanding of aircraft systems and competency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical report writing and presentations.
• Fluency in English; additional local languages viewed favorably.

Experience

• Minimum of 4000 flight hours completion, preferably on Airbus A320.
• Prior experience with low-cost carriers is highly advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of aircraft systems and operational procedures.
• Capability to perform roles related to safety or security as required by airline and regulatory standards.
• Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures related to flight operations.
• Ability to apply policies, procedures, and manuals per approved regulations.
• Adaptability to dynamic work environments with demanding schedules and unscheduled situations.
• Composed and self-assured demeanor adept at managing emergencies effectively.
• Analytical skills to evaluate data, identify issues, and recommend economically viable solutions.
