Job description
Role Overview
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Bullingdon, located in Lower Arncott, England. This position involves supporting day-to-day prison operations, contributing to a safe and efficient environment. The role blends desk-based tasks with physically active duties, such as supervising deliveries, conducting security and search procedures at entry points, visitor management, and monitoring communications and CCTV systems.
Responsibilities
- Implement security measures including searches and gate management
- Supervise visitor access and manage deliveries
- Monitor inmate phone calls and oversee CCTV operations
- Escort vehicles within prison premises
- Participate in a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring continuous operational support
Requirements and Qualifications
- Possession of a full, valid UK driving licence including D1 category, enabling driving of vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, a maximum length of 8 meters, and trailers up to 750kg
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and escorting
- Good judgement, common sense, and a collaborative mindset
- No specific educational qualifications required
