Overview

Join His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service as a Prison Support Officer at HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill. This important role involves supporting the daily operations of a busy prison environment through a range of activities from security checks to operational logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct security and search procedures at prison gates.
  • Manage deliveries efficiently ensuring smooth processing.
  • Supervise visitors to maintain order and safety.
  • Monitor telephone communications and CCTV for security purposes.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds.

Candidate Profile

No formal qualifications are required, but strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. You must exercise good judgement, have sensible decision-making capability, and be a reliable team player.

Shift flexibility is necessary as the role includes night and weekend shifts. Additionally, candidates must hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence due to driving responsibilities being integral to the role.
