Role Overview

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Isle of Wight, playing an integral role in the daily operations of a busy correctional facility. This position combines various responsibilities including security checks, overseeing deliveries, supervising visitor access, monitoring communications such as phone calls and CCTV, alongside practical duties like escorting vehicles and performing physical tasks around the site.

Key Responsibilities

As an OSG, you’re expected to contribute to maintaining the smooth and safe running of the prison by performing duties that involve interaction with security protocols, logistical tasks, and supporting operational flow. Driving is a crucial aspect of this role, thus requiring a valid UK driving licence. You will work shifts that include nights and weekends, adapting to the dynamic needs of the prison environment.
