Role Overview
We invite you to join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) based at HMP Isle of Wight. This role involves varied responsibilities essential to the smooth operation of a busy prison. You will be part of a dedicated team, performing duties including security checks and searches at the gate, delivery management, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV footage. The position combines administrative tasks with physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles within prison grounds.
Key Requirements
The role necessitates holding a current, valid UK Driving Licence as driving tasks form a vital part of daily responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
No formal qualifications are necessary to apply. However, excellent communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, sound judgement, and being an effective team player are crucial. You will operate across varying shifts including nights and weekends to ensure continuous support to prison operations.
