Overview
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service at HMP Bullingdon in the role of Operational Support Grade (OSG), with a starting salary of £30,491. This position involves supporting the daily functions of a busy prison to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a cooperative team, you will perform various duties including security checks and searches at the entrance, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, monitoring CCTV footage and telephone calls. The role involves both desk work and physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and walking across the prison grounds to escort vehicles.
Required Qualifications and Eligibility
No formal qualifications are mandatory, but effective communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential for success in this fast-paced role. Applicants must hold a full, valid UK driving license with D1 category entitlement allowing driving vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, measuring no longer than 8 meters, and towing trailers up to 750kg.
Work Conditions and Schedule
The job entails working various shifts, including weekends and nights, with fixed start and end times. Reliable transportation is important due to the potential rural prison location and limited public transport availability.
