About the Role and Department

Join TheCorporate's Coworker Inclusion & Belonging team in Oakland, CA as a Principal Program Manager. This role supports a workplace culture committed to fostering inclusivity and belonging across the employee lifecycle by coordinating enterprise-wide Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and Engineering Network Groups (ENG), along with eight Functional Area Inclusion Councils. The team aims to create an environment where employees feel secure, engaged, and connected while promoting equitable work practices and inclusive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, governance, and operational management of ERGs and ENGs to ensure alignment with organizational inclusion goals.
  • Collaborate with ERG/ENG leaders and executive sponsors to establish annual objectives, key performance indicators, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Offer tools, resources, budget oversight, and succession planning support for these groups.
  • Support Functional Area Inclusion Councils in formulating and implementing their business unit-specific inclusion action agendas.
  • Provide data-driven insights and consultation to foster accountability and embed inclusive practices throughout daily business operations.
  • Develop governance structures, operating principles, and success criteria to standardize and expand inclusion efforts enterprise-wide.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, influencing organizational change and encouraging adoption of inclusive behaviors without direct authority.
  • Create dashboards and analytical reports to monitor and communicate progress and outcomes related to inclusion programs.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (e.g., from Cornell, Georgetown, SHRM) or extensive practical experience managing DEI programs.
  • Five to seven years of professional experience in program management, organizational development, or DEI, preferably within complex or unionized environments.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale inclusion initiatives and influencing organizational stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Competency with data analysis, insight generation, and performance reporting to guide strategic decisions.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and relationship-building capabilities.

  • This is a one-year contract position based in Oakland, CA.
  • Applicants must currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area or nearby and be available for hybrid work with mandatory onsite presence 1 to 2 days per month, scheduled in advance.
