About the Company
Accurate Background provides compliant, automated workforce screening solutions that help organizations lower risk, control costs, and improve the candidate screening journey. The company supports more than 13,000 organizations with technology-enabled screening and supervisory service.
Joining Accurate Background means contributing to a mission focused on making each hire the beginning of a successful story. The team aims to improve background screening through better visibility and insights so clients can make informed, objective decisions.
Role Summary
The Principal HR Business Partner will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and act as a senior advisor to leaders across multiple global business functions. This is a high-ownership role for a confident, independent HRBP who can work through ambiguity, build strong executive relationships, and convert business needs into practical people strategies with limited oversight.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves advising executive leaders with direct, data-backed guidance on people, organizational, and leadership matters, including challenging assumptions when needed to improve outcomes. It also requires full ownership of the HRBP relationship for assigned global client groups, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, spotting opportunities, and recommending next steps.
The Principal HRBP will shape integrated people strategies across organizational design, workforce planning, succession, performance, leadership effectiveness, engagement, and talent development so that people decisions support growth, innovation, operational discipline, and market leadership.
The position will lead complex initiatives such as organizational redesign, leadership transitions, succession planning for key roles, talent assessments, retention planning, and change management. The HRBP must be comfortable moving initiatives from idea to execution in uncertain environments.
Additional responsibilities include using data and business context to diagnose issues and present clear recommendations, preparing executive-level reports and presentations on topics such as attrition, engagement, compensation, organizational health, talent risk, and workforce trends, and advising on performance management, employee relations, risk, leadership development, compensation, talent growth, and organizational effectiveness.
The role also partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence such as Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Employee Experience to deliver scalable solutions, and drives assigned projects through completion with clear accountability and measurable results. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be accepted. HR certification is considered an advantage.
Candidates should bring 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including substantial HR Business Partner experience supporting senior leaders and complex business groups. The ideal candidate can operate independently with strong judgment, discretion, accountability, and the ability to move work forward with limited direction.
Experience in high-growth, global, or matrixed organizations is preferred, especially where HRBPs are expected to be strategic, hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable working without extensive infrastructure. The role also calls for proven executive influence, the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally, and a strong record of building trust while maintaining confidentiality.
Other important qualifications include strong business acumen, the ability to connect people strategy with business goals, sound organizational and analytical skills, clear communication and facilitation ability, strong presentation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Workday experience is a plus. The person should be collaborative, but also able to independently own deliverables, decisions, and outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is $130,000 to $170,000. Actual pay will depend on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. The position may also qualify for an annual performance bonus, commission, or another variable pay program.
Benefits include medical, dental, and 401(k) coverage. Additional compensation details can be discussed with the recruiter during the hiring process.
