Principal Enterprise Architect - RISE - New Zealand

About the Role

SAP focuses on driving digital transformation across a diverse range of industries and commerce globally. As part of the SAP Enterprise Architects team under the Customer Services & Delivery board, you'll play a key role in advancing the RISE with SAP initiative, emphasizing Clean Core principles, and promoting adoption of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The objective is to simplify and modernize IT infrastructures, reduce complexity, lower operational expenses, and spur innovation to meet evolving business demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a full enterprise architecture model that aligns with customers' strategic goals.
• Collaborate closely with virtual account teams as a partner in enterprise transformation.
• Guide customers throughout their cloud journey, focusing on adoption and deriving value, starting from Enterprise archetypes and scaling digitally.
• Provide enterprise architecture advice aligned with RISE with SAP methodology and Clean Core principles to maximize cloud benefits.
• Serve as the transformation partner to CIOs or other senior executives, enhancing architecture effectiveness.
• Identify and manage risks related to technical adoption to support successful solution uptake.
• Drive value realization by encouraging solution adoption and effective consumption of SAP capabilities.
• Consolidate customer expectations and business goals into actionable enterprise success plans to monitor KPIs and value drivers.
• Act as a trusted advisor ensuring secure, reliable, and flexible cloud environments for mission-critical business processes.
• Facilitate governance practices that engage relevant stakeholders within and outside customer organizations to enhance value realization and create a unified perspective on business goals.
• Align customers and partners with SAP’s Clean Core strategy, accelerate BTP adoption, and promote SAP best practices.

Skills and Expertise Required

• Extensive experience executing enterprise business transformation projects and aligning priorities to target architecture and roadmaps.
• Deep understanding of SAP’s Solution Portfolio and Enterprise Architecture Framework (North Star).
• Proficiency with Business Technology Platform components including application development, automation, data and analytics, integration, and AI.
• Practical knowledge of S/4HANA applications and technical architecture.
• Strong grasp of Cloud and Clean Core strategies, SAP LeanIX, Signavio, and Cloud ALM tools.
• Familiarity with SAP’s Business AI roadmap; ability to identify use cases and pilot AI-driven enhancements.
• Expertise in SAP Integration and Extensibility Advisory methodologies.
• Understanding of SAP’s value framework and experience in business case development using tools like SAP Value Lifecycle Manager (VLM).

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

• More than 10 years of experience in roles focused on customer experience such as Program Manager or Architect.
• Demonstrated history in designing end-to-end hybrid solution architectures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework and associated tools.
• Hands-on experience with BTP services for application development, automation, analytics, integration, and AI.
• Experience applying Clean Core principles and expertise in S/4HANA application or technical roles.
• Outstanding communication, influence, and negotiation skills suited for senior management and executive levels, including cross-functional teams.
• Strong strategic mindset with continuous learning orientation and sound business acumen.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with both on-premises and SAP cloud solutions.
• Relevant certifications such as SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework (LeanIX EAM), SAP Certified Professional-Enterprise Architect (P_SAPEA_2023), or TOGAF are advantageous.
