Role Overview

The Principal Advisor for Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) plays a key role in collaborating with regional and school leaders to enhance leadership capabilities and implement evidence-based Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This role focuses on delivering professional learning, coaching, and strategic advice to promote safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments that improve academic, behavioral, and wellbeing outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with school leadership teams to improve Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavioral support practices.
• Develop agile support systems utilizing data for informed decision-making and continuous progress.
• Lead regional initiatives that build capability, support school improvement, and foster partnerships across the education sector.

Mandatory Requirements

• Must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer position governed by the Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016.
• Current full teacher registration is required.
• Temporary internal moves (“internal secondments”) are recognized within the department's payroll system.
• Employees temporarily engaged as Education Officer - Special Duties must adhere to a 36¼ hours weekly attendance, consistent with clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022.
