President, Inova Loudoun Hospital

Role overview

Inova Health is looking for a seasoned healthcare leader to head Inova Loudoun Hospital, a highly regarded hospital serving one of the country’s fastest-expanding communities. This executive role sits on Inova Health’s senior leadership team and is responsible for guiding the hospital’s strategy, day-to-day operations, financial stewardship, and organizational culture within Inova’s integrated matrix structure.

The President is expected to strengthen clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, operational results, and team member engagement while advancing Inova’s mission, vision, values, and long-term priorities.

Reporting to the Chief, Clinical Enterprise Operations, this leader acts as the top executive for the hospital and works closely with service line leaders, physicians, nurses, operations teams, and community partners to improve care delivery across Loudoun County and the wider Northern Virginia area.

Core responsibilities

• Ensure hospital priorities and daily operations are closely aligned with Inova’s mission, values, strategic direction, and enterprise goals.
• Guide continuous improvement efforts across quality, safety, service, financial health, and patient outcomes.
• Engage hospital staff and provider partners so they actively support Inova’s key initiatives and care priorities.
• Build and sustain a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
• Set expectations and lead the hospital’s workplace experience, engagement, and cultural environment.
• Work in close partnership with service line leadership to implement system-wide strategies and deliver shared objectives.
• Translate organizational goals into execution through strong KPI management and collaborative leadership.
• Support growth opportunities, access expansion, and service line development across the market.
• Create trusted relationships with physicians, medical staff leaders, and administrators throughout the health system.
• Influence outcomes effectively within a complex matrix organization.
• Oversee financial results, operating efficiency, resource use, and facility management for the hospital.
• Use resources responsibly while enabling innovation and growth.
• Collaborate with enterprise leadership to meet budget, operational, and strategic targets.
• Use data to monitor performance and drive operational improvements.
• Represent Inova Loudoun Hospital as its primary spokesperson in the local community.
• Develop strong ties with community leaders, elected officials, business groups, and other important stakeholders.
• Promote Inova’s mission and reinforce the hospital’s standing as the region’s preferred healthcare provider.
• Serve as the operational and legal leader for reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and risk management.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, as well as Inova policies and standards.
• Lead enterprise projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare leadership.

Preferred background

• Proven success leading hospital operations inside a complex healthcare system.
• Experience managing a community hospital with broad acute care, emergency, surgical, women’s health, and specialty service lines.
• History of leading major transformation, expansion, and performance improvement efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to improve quality, patient experience, physician engagement, workforce culture, operational performance, and financial outcomes.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is a 211-bed acute care hospital located in Leesburg, Virginia, and serves as a key healthcare provider in a rapidly growing region. The facility includes Loudoun County’s only provisional Level II Trauma Center through the Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center, as well as comprehensive emergency services, including a dedicated sensory-friendly Children’s Emergency Room.

The hospital also operates two 24/7 full-service satellite emergency departments in Ashburn and Leesburg, a modern Birthing Center with spa-like labor, delivery, and recovery suites, 24/7 OB triage, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), plus an inpatient behavioral health unit at the Cornwall Campus in Leesburg. Inova Loudoun Hospital has also been recognized as a Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital, earned consecutive Leapfrog “A” grades for patient safety, and is rated High Performing by U.S. News & World Report across several adult procedures and conditions.
