Position Summary
The President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) role involves providing comprehensive strategic, operational, and technical leadership. This executive partner collaborates to execute the company vision, drive operational excellence, and expand engineering capacities. The position demands profound technical knowledge coupled with decades of seasoned leadership experience in the defense sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring strong corporate governance practices.
- Driving operational excellence across the organization.
- Leading business development initiatives.
- Overseeing financial activities and fiscal discipline.
- Managing compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Providing technical leadership for projects and innovations.
- Maintaining and enhancing customer relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 25 years progressive leadership experience within a defense contracting environment.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM discipline, plus an MBA from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated success in securing and delivering defense contracts, especially within the Huntsville/Redstone Arsenal area.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- In-depth understanding of technical requirements and their execution.
- Experience guiding small defense contractors through various corporate growth stages and joint ventures.
- Capability to translate complex technical needs into profitable and executable business plans.
