Role overview
This full-time onsite position supports the prepared foods area by handling dishwashing and keeping the kitchen clean and orderly. The role also requires delivering courteous, efficient service and representing the company in a positive manner at all times.
All work must follow standard operating procedures, health and safety requirements, and food safety rules. Team members in this role should be ready to take on related tasks across the store as needed and contribute to company values, goals, and store initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Clean, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and small equipment.
- Keep kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelving clean.
- Support kitchen deliveries by organizing, storing, and rotating products correctly.
- Arrive on time, present yourself appropriately, and complete all scheduled shifts, trainings, and meetings.
- Provide prompt and courteous support to customers, including answering calls and pages professionally.
- Help maximize sales by following proper routines for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and displaying product.
- Follow established rules for weights and measures, sanitation, health standards, and safe work methods.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work and customer area, and keep equipment in line with cleanliness and safety expectations.
- Carry out opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks as assigned, including checking sign and price accuracy.
- Report safety concerns and violations immediately.
- Take on other tasks assigned by store, regional, or national leaders.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate brings strong time management, a genuine focus on cleanliness, and the ability to work well with others. Good communication, clear and respectful interaction, organization, and the ability to follow instructions are important. A strong work ethic, comfort in a fast-paced setting, and interest in natural foods are also valued.
No previous retail experience is required.
Working conditions
This job requires lifting up to 50 pounds. In an 8-hour shift, standing and walking may take 6 to 8 hours. The role involves single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
Work may involve exposure to approved cleaning chemicals and a range of temperatures, including freezing conditions below 32°F, refrigeration temperatures between 32°F and 40°F, and heat above 90°F. The position also requires working in both wet and dry conditions, using tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery, and may involve ladder use. A flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.

Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this role is CAD 18.50 to CAD 25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Benefit eligibility depends on the applicable plan at hire and may vary by location, service length, and job type.
