Job Summary

Main Responsibilities

  • Carefully transport patients around the hospital premises ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Move medical equipment and furniture between wards effectively to support operational needs.
  • Deliver critical supplies and samples to facilitate patient care processes.
  • Perform postal duties and act as a messenger ensuring smooth communication between departments.
  • Handle waste collection and disposal to maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment.
  • Respond swiftly and calmly to emergency situations ensuring safety and efficiency.

Work Environment & Hours

Your role requires adherence to departmental and health and safety protocols. As a full-time employee, you will work an average of 37.5 hours per week with occasional shifts extending to 45 hours balanced by reduced hours in subsequent weeks. Shift times vary between 6 am and 10 pm, Monday through Sunday, requiring flexibility including weekends.

Qualifications & Skills

  • No formal qualifications required; comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Essential to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items such as beds, wheelchairs, and meal trolleys.
  • Prior experience in portering or related customer service roles is advantageous.
  • Capability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
