Job description
About The Lazy CEO
The Lazy CEO is hosted by Australian entrepreneur Jane Lu, the founder and CEO of Showpo. The podcast centres on entrepreneurship, growing a business, mindset, and personal development. Episodes feature conversations with founders, business leaders, and subject-matter experts about building successful brands, along with practical reflections on leadership, scaling, and balancing ambition with everyday life.
Role overview
This is a hands-on, end-to-end podcast production role. The Podcast Producer will oversee the full lifecycle of The Lazy CEO podcast, from guest coordination and live recording support to editing, publishing, and social content management. This is not a role limited to post-production. It requires someone who can manage the guest journey from first outreach through to release, produce recordings in the studio, work with offshore editors on social assets, and keep the show’s social channels active and aligned with the brand throughout the week.
The role has been brought in-house to improve production quality, strengthen brand control, and ensure a deeper understanding of Jane’s tone of voice and the Australian media environment.
Guest and production coordination
- Take ownership of guest outreach, booking, and all pre-recording communication, while keeping the pipeline at least four weeks ahead.
- Prepare guests before recording, coordinate on-site logistics for studio days, and run the room as producer during live sessions.
- Serve as the main contact for the iHeart team, oversee ad integrations and delivery timelines, and ensure all placements are checked against brand requirements with the Social & Brand Lead.
Content and distribution
- Lead the content calendar, including episode themes, guest positioning, and segment ideas that help move the show forward.
- Assess each episode for quality, flow, and brand fit before it is published.
- Brief, review, and approve social edits in collaboration with the offshore editor.
- Manually publish and manage The Lazy CEO’s social accounts five days per week, replacing the current agency setup.
- Schedule episode drops, create show notes, and manage distribution across podcast platforms.
Experience and fit
The ideal candidate has several years of podcast production experience in Australia, preferably within business, entrepreneurship, or media. They should already understand the Australian podcast and media landscape, have relevant industry connections, and be comfortable working on-site in Sydney for recording days. Strong organisation, clear communication, and the ability to manage guests, partners, and internal stakeholders independently are essential.
Perks and culture
Showpo describes itself as a fast-growing fashion brand with a strong social media presence and a culture built around thinking big, getting things done, and having fun. Team members can expect a flexible working environment, major staff discounts across Showpo and more than 50 partner brands, regular social celebrations, volunteering and giving-back opportunities, a dog-friendly office, breakfast bar, education and wellness initiatives, lunch-and-learn sessions, and a Friday reward-and-recognition program.
