About the Role
2WAY is looking for an adept, quick-response Video Editor and Writer/Producer to enhance our production crew. This combined role demands managing graphic and video components for a daily live-stream show while contributing significantly to editorial decisions. The perfect candidate will excel in a rapid live broadcast setting, have solid political knowledge, and possess a keen sense for impactful video content. Responsibilities include editing video clips, creating engaging headlines, packaging content for our viewers, and ensuring live streams meet broadcast standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare graphic and video materials for a daily live-stream to ensure smooth broadcast integration.
- Edit short video clips swiftly in response to live events and requests during broadcasts.
- Monitor live streams to guarantee technical excellence and broadcast quality.
- Organize and manage files efficiently using platforms like Google Drive, Frame.io, and Dropbox.
- Continuously review live broadcasts to select and edit compelling video clips suitable for social media.
- Create engaging video titles and social media copy to complement selected clips.
- Adopt audience perspectives to package content that performs well, aligned with editorial voice.
- Coordinate closely with Executive Producers to synchronize editorial strategy and daily production goals.
Qualifications
- More than five years of substantial editing experience in news, politics, podcasting, live production, or comparable fast-paced fields.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, OBS, and commonly used AI technologies.
- Demonstrated editorial judgment and a thorough understanding of political news cycles.
- Capability to maintain high-quality output under the pressures of live broadcasting.
- Strong verbal and written communication, adept at instant messaging tools such as Slack.
- A portfolio evidencing broadcast-standard editing and production work.
- Practical experience managing YouTube channels and comprehensive knowledge of online video trends and algorithms.
Work Environment & Requirements
- This position operates on a hybrid schedule, combining remote work and onsite presence at our Manhattan office.
- Flexibility to work beyond regular hours, including late nights, weekends, and during special news cycle projects, is required.
- Candidates must have prior authorization to live and work legally in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary of $90,000.
