Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Planner/Schedulers to join our team for major shutdowns and maintenance activities within the mining and heavy industrial sectors in the Gladstone region. These roles involve contributing to shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance projects supporting mining, mineral processing, port, and industrial clients. As project demand increases, we are establishing a talent pool of skilled planners for upcoming short- and long-term maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive shutdown and maintenance work packages.
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP, or similar tools.
  • Coordinate requirements for labor, materials, tooling, and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and project teams to ensure alignment.
  • Monitor schedule progress, highlight critical path tasks, and report on performance.
  • Prepare progress updates, forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
  • Support budgeting, estimating, and maintenance planning initiatives.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in planning and scheduling methodologies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within mining, heavy industry, resources, energy, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, or fixed plant maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance work management systems.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, SAP, Microsoft Project, or comparable planning software.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade credentials, engineering qualifications, or relevant tertiary education.
  • Experience with SAP PM module.
  • Background in fixed plant maintenance.
  • Experience working with major mining companies such as Rio Tinto, BMA, Anglo American, or Glencore.
  • Working knowledge of risk management and maintenance strategies.
  • Familiarity with Queensland mining or heavy industry environments.
