Job Overview
The role focuses on delivering and designing physical therapy treatments using diverse therapeutic techniques to improve patient functionality. Collaborating closely with medical professionals, the therapist addresses recovery needs from simple musculoskeletal injuries to complex neurological disorders and amputee rehabilitation. Treatments involve manual therapy, isometric exercises, and physical therapy modalities such as heat application, hydrotherapy, and specialized equipment. The therapist continuously monitors patient progress and adapts interventions accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-standard medical care to all patients at Riyadh Care Hospital.
- Assess, plan, and conduct physical therapy sessions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progression notes for medical team review.
- Manage a personal caseload with full accountability for therapeutic outcomes.
- Oversee and support the activities of Physical Therapy Technicians under supervision.
- Engage in clinical meetings, case reviews, and educational sessions to ensure continuous care improvement.
- Educate patients prior to hospital discharge, focusing on safety, post-care procedures, and home management instructions.
- Report any significant patient condition changes promptly to the healthcare team.
- Maintain punctuality and accuracy in daily treatment documentation.
- Identify and report issues related to treatment areas or equipment functionality and collaborate on resolutions.
- Consult regularly with physicians and surgeons to discuss diagnoses and best therapeutic approaches.
- Assist in determining therapy plans and review diagnostic data to optimize patient care.
- Formulate condition-specific treatment programs and obtain physician authorizations.
- Apply precise manual therapy and massages, and utilize therapeutic modalities like hydrotherapy, infrared/ultraviolet lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound.
- Support prosthetic device use instruction and evaluate therapy effectiveness.
- Keep detailed records on patient diagnoses, assessments, and therapeutic interventions; make adjustments based on patient response.
- Train ward staff and educate patients and families on treatment protocols and home care strategies.
- Lead educational programs for medical personnel and community groups.
- Stay informed about new rehabilitation equipment and techniques, recommending relevant advancements.
- Provide patient and family education in compliance with institutional policies and document accordingly.
- Honor patient and family contributions in care decisions and planning.
- Promote tailored health education considering patient development, learning ability, and preferences.
- Allocate sufficient time for comprehensive assessments, educational planning, and documentation.
- Uphold hospital dress code and professional conduct standards.
- Fulfill additional duties within the scope of practice and skill competencies as assigned.
