In this position, you will help people purchase their first home, review or refix existing lending, invest, and strengthen their overall financial wellbeing.

The role

As a Personal Banking Consultant, your focus will be on delivering an excellent customer experience while supporting financial wellbeing. The role places strong emphasis on confidently leading home lending discussions and helping customers secure lending outcomes they can rely on.

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday. You will be based in the Dargaville Advice Centre and may occasionally be asked to provide cover at the Whangarei Advice Centre.

Key accountabilities

• Develop trusted customer relationships and support lending decisions with clear, caring guidance.
• Explain banking products and services in a way that helps customers choose practical and innovative solutions.
• Use your lending experience to work proactively, manage your workload effectively, and deliver strong customer outcomes.

About you

ASB is looking for someone who either has current home lending experience or brings strong lending capability and a genuine desire to help customers achieve positive financial outcomes.

• You have current home lending experience, or the confidence and drive to achieve solid lending results for customers.
• You can engage customers proactively and identify suitable products and services for their needs.
• You respond effectively to customer questions, issues and requests.
• You take a relationship-led approach and build credibility with both customers and colleagues.
• You are committed to meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
