Compliance is embedded within the Risk, Legal and Compliance Division, supporting Senior Management to ensure adherence to both external and internal regulations that actively manage operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.

Role Overview

This position is crucial in maintaining regulatory standards and managing risk effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support CRO and Senior Management at BJBS branch to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and actively manage operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Contribute as a member of the periodic review team, handling compliance reviews for BJBS.
  • Develop and nurture strong partnerships with stakeholders, including BJBS Front Office, Client Documentation Services, KYC/AML Onboarding, AML Investigations, and Risk Management teams.
  • Assist Head of AML/KYC Singapore and Head of Periodic Review in overseeing compliance reviews of existing client relationships, portfolios, and accounts, alongside addressing new or incremental KYC/CDD risks that arise during client relationships.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to local and international Relationship Managers (Hong Kong, Thailand, Dubai) on periodic review submissions, including changes to client KYC profiles, account structures, and newly detected adverse news or risk factors.
  • Support ad-hoc KYC/CDD inquiries and issues raised by regulators, auditors, and Head Office.
  • Conduct thorough client profile reviews within assigned periodic review cycles to ensure compliance with internal standards and AML/CFT/CDD regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate client risk assessments and due diligence focused on high and highest risk profiles.
  • Identify and address any incremental AML/KYC risks during reviews and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Perform name screening reviews (using tools such as Google, World Check, Factiva) to support periodic reviews.
  • Review transactional activities during review periods to confirm alignment with client risk profiles and investigate suspicious transactions.
  • Contribute to projects and process improvements relating to KYC/CDD.
  • Exemplify integrity and ethical behavior, including honesty, diligence, fair customer treatment, conflict-of-interest management, continuous development, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Ensure proper identification, assessment, and documentation of all KYC/CDD matters, escalating any unresolved issues especially if suspicious conduct is detected.

Candidate Profile

  • Team-oriented mindset, with prior team leadership experience considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
