About the Role
Figma is expanding its diverse team of creative and technical professionals to democratize design access globally. Their collaborative platform enables teams to transform ideas into tangible products through brainstorming, prototyping, coding, and AI-assisted iteration, supporting real-time global collaboration. This position is focused on the Japan and APAC markets, mainly supporting go-to-market (GTM) teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Support, across Singapore, Japan, India, and Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main People Partner for Japan and APAC, acting as the initial liaison for leaders at various functions and organizational levels, offering local insights and regional business acumen.
- Partner with functional People Partners to support organizational scaling by refining team structures, role definitions, and operational models to align with business objectives.
- Coach senior management to enhance leadership quality, team productivity, and results within a high-growth, target-oriented context.
- Identify and resolve cross-functional challenges by boosting alignment and clarity throughout teams; proactively incorporate regional context.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in People Operations, including Compensation, Recruiting, Learning & Development, Behavioural and Emotional Intelligence (BEI), and Employee Relations, to implement impactful people strategies.
- Leverage data, employee feedback, and organizational insights to guide decisions and improve team health and performance measurably.
- Design and execute a people strategy for Japan and APAC aligned with the region's growth phase and business goals, coordinating with the global GTM and overall People strategy.
- Explore and implement AI tools to optimize workflows, enhance people analytics, enable managers at scale, and improve overall efficiency, sharing insights with the wider People Partner team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 8 years of experience in HR or People roles, including substantial work as an HR Business Partner supporting senior leaders in fast-paced, high-growth organizations.
- Hands-on experience across multiple APAC jurisdictions with solid understanding of employment laws, cultural differences, and HR practices.
- Strong generalist HR skills spanning employee relations, operations, and strategic business partnership.
- Experience collaborating with GTM or revenue-generating departments such as Sales, Marketing, or Product Support, with insight into their operating dynamics.
- Proven capability to influence senior leadership and align stakeholders in ambiguous, rapidly changing settings, including remote collaboration with Centers of Excellence.
- Track record of supporting geographically dispersed teams within a collaborative People Partner structure across regions.

- Background in fast-scaling SaaS or product-focused companies.
- Proficiency in Japanese language skills.
