Since May 2023, the company has successfully onboarded 26,000 paying clinicians, processes 100,000 patient notes daily (exceeding 3 million monthly), and improved clinician satisfaction. Backed by Sequoia Capital and other prominent investors, Freed is rapidly evolving its product suite including patient assistants, insights, and EHR integrations.
Role Summary
The People Operations role is pivotal to maintaining and enhancing Freed's HR functions. This high-ownership position manages employee lifecycle processes, office operations, and people systems, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience across the company. The team embraces a hybrid work model centered in San Francisco, with three days per week in-office collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of onboarding and pre-boarding logistics, tracking milestones at Day 1, Week 1, and 30/90 days with early issue detection.
- Coordinate recruitment activities by managing interview scheduling, candidate interactions, and close cooperation with leadership and hiring managers to ensure an organized and quick process.
- Manage offboarding procedures including documentation and coordination with IT, Finance, and managers to ensure smooth employee separations.
- Maintain and optimize People systems, such as Gusto and Windmill, focusing on accurate data, payroll, benefits, and operational enhancements.
- Oversee office management in San Francisco, vendor relations, events, and foster both in-person and remote employee experiences.
- Support analytics by maintaining dashboards related to headcount, attrition, onboarding progress, and contributing to monthly People reports.
- Plan company and team off-sites, and develop employee engagement initiatives including recognition programs and milestone celebrations.
Candidate Profile
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of prioritizing in a fast-moving, changing environment.
- Proactive with a mindset toward automating processes to improve efficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across various channels and audiences.
- Minimum 4 years experience in dynamic, people-oriented roles, preferably in startups or high-growth companies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in high-growth startups.
- Proficiency with tools like Ashby, Notion, Gusto or equivalents.
- Experience in recruiting coordination and candidate experience management.
- Knowledge of People analytics and reporting.
