Role Summary
We are looking for a People & Culture Manager to join our prestigious Fairmont Heritage Place team in San Francisco. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role encompasses overseeing all human resources and compliance activities aligned with Accor policies and pertinent local, state, and federal laws. The position focuses on employee relations, performance and talent management, benefits, and fostering a workplace culture that embodies Accor’s core values and the “Make Special Happen” promise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the People & Culture department to support and implement the property's strategic HR goals.
- Collaborate with leadership on organizational needs involving employee relations, payroll, compensation, benefits, recognition, development, administration, and wellness initiatives.
- Encourage a respectful, inclusive, and communicative workplace culture emphasizing trust and continuous feedback.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners while delivering engaging service.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, applicant tracking, candidate communication, offers, background screening, compliance, and onboarding.
- Conduct new hire orientation, onboarding, and Heartist Culture training to ensure compliance, engagement, and brand alignment.
- Manage internal mobility processes such as internal applications, referral programs, and payout tracking.
- Serve as technical contact for HR systems including Ceridian, Employee Benefits Portal, and HERO for talent acquisition and performance management.
- Administer benefits and supervise bi-weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead annual performance review cycles, goal setting, talent development, and employee engagement survey follow-ups.
- Generate HR analytics and reports including turnover, training, promotions, wage and budget analysis.
- Coordinate with regional teams on learning, development, and diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives.
- Develop and enforce policies adhering to Accor standards, California labor laws, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI, data privacy, and local employment regulations.
- Comply with HOA governance documents relevant to employment practices.
- Act as primary labor relations liaison, maintaining positive engagement with unions and participating in negotiations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead corporate and regulatory audits including payroll, wage compliance, 401(k), and corrective action implementations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least five years of advancing experience in People & Culture, compliance, labor relations, operations, or property management.
- Minimum two years of hospitality sector experience preferred.
- Proven leadership and advisory capabilities with excellent communication skills engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, California labor laws, and employment regulations.
- Experience with HR information systems for recruitment, benefits, reporting, and analytics.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to confidentiality and detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business technology platforms.
- Valid California driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within team environments with strong interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor and service-oriented approach when addressing colleague needs.

Additional Information
Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the USA; visa sponsorship is not available.
Salary ranges between $110,000 and $125,000 annually, depending on experience, supplemented by benefits and bonuses.
