Role Summary
The People & Culture Executive is integral to cultivating a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving work environment within the Montcalm Collection’s 14 properties. Reporting to the Cluster HR Manager and Head of People & Culture, this role combines oversight of daily HR operations with support for strategic human resources initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the People & Culture function across all 14 properties.
- Design and implement induction programs for managerial staff, including welcome communications.
- Manage everyday HR duties such as recruitment, onboarding, benefit administration, and policy management.
- Assist in executing company-wide HR projects alongside senior HR leaders.
- Draft offer letters, contracts, and induction materials using the Harri platform.
- Contribute to the development and revision of company policies and procedures.
- Support the Learning and Development Manager with comprehensive company inductions and oversee engagement and wellness programs.
- Administer employee benefit processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead and participate in employee relations activities including investigations, discipline hearings, and grievances.
- Advise and assist line managers on performance, absence, and conflict management.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws, company policies, and data protection regulations.
- Ensure ongoing verification of employees' right to work in the UK.
- Mentor junior HR team members, aiding their development and task management.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics to support strategic planning.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety initiatives throughout the organisation.
- Manage job frameworks and updates within the Harri system to streamline recruitment.
- Assist with internal communications and support HR activities during company events.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders on employee-related matters.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding processes for departing staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships across departments and levels.
- Approachable, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and capability to handle multiple priorities.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within hospitality.
- CIPD Level 3 certification required; Level 5 or equivalent preferred or actively pursued.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Harri and Fourth.
- Robust knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practices.
Work Conditions
- Full-time role requiring flexibility including occasional evenings and weekends to support events or urgent matters.
