Job description

Role Overview

In this position, you will help attract, welcome, and support the workforce that keeps the Proserpine Mill operating effectively. The role combines recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day HR coordination in a busy operational setting.

You will take ownership of the full hiring process, from drafting compelling job advertisements and finding suitable candidates to working with hiring managers and ensuring new starters have a smooth transition into the business. Alongside this, you will provide on-site people and culture support, manage timecards in Kronos, assist with workplace relations matters, and handle questions from employees and leaders. This is a strong opportunity for an HR professional who wants to build experience in a fast-moving environment while contributing to a collaborative team.

Key Duties

  • Run the complete recruitment cycle and help ensure vacancies are filled quickly with suitable people.
  • Work with site leaders to support workforce planning and day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Keep recruitment files, systems, and related documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Assist across the employee journey, including onboarding, performance-related processes, and general HR administration.
  • Support a healthy workplace culture by applying sound HR practices and helping leaders with routine people matters.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring either a qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, or relevant recruitment experience, preferably gained in heavy industry, agriculture, or manufacturing. You should be confident finding and engaging talent in high-volume, fast-paced environments, and comfortable building strong working relationships with both leaders and candidates.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, can recognise the right fit for the role and the culture, and stays organised while juggling several priorities at once.

Location and Lifestyle

Outside of work, you will be based in the Whitsunday region, known for its coastal scenery, beaches, and welcoming community. The area offers easy access to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef, making it an appealing place to enjoy a balanced lifestyle.
