Role Overview
This People & Culture Business Partner position supports a workforce of more than 220 employees spread across 25 states. The role is responsible for creating a steady and supportive employee experience, advising managers, handling employee relations matters, supporting recruiting for corporate positions, and helping ensure compliance with employment regulations. It is a key role in strengthening trust across the organization and helping managers grow into effective people leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main HR point of contact for employees and managers on policy matters and workplace concerns.
- Review, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues with fairness, confidentiality, and consistency.
- Partner on sensitive matters involving performance management, investigations, and employee separations.
- Provide people-management support to retail locations in their daily operations.
- Oversee workers’ compensation claim handling.
- Run recruiting operations for corporate roles below manager level.
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires.
- Guide managers through performance coaching and improvement plans.
- Support promotions and compensation updates.
- Track and maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws across 25 states.
- Answer questions related to pay, leave, and workplace policies.
- Ensure harassment-prevention training is completed.
- Maintain mandatory workplace postings.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding workflows.
- Administer leave-of-absence programs.
- Keep HR records and compliance files accurate and up to date.
- Spot opportunities to improve HR processes and implement better ways of working.
Required Background
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an HRBP, HR Generalist, or People Operations capacity.
- Proven experience supporting teams across multiple states and familiarity with employment law requirements.
- Background in retail or multi-location retail support.
- Strong capability in investigations, performance management, and employee separations.
- Experience with recruiting operations and applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- Comfort using Google Workspace, Asana, and HRIS tools; ADP Workforce Now is an advantage.
- Alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to ADP, Workable, or EasyLlama.
- SHRM or PHR certification.
- Based in Jackson Hole, WY, Salt Lake City, UT, or Denver, CO.
