Role overview

Braze is hiring a People Business Partner to support senior leaders with both strategic guidance and day-to-day people operations. This position is based in New York City and includes some hybrid flexibility. The role is designed to have a meaningful impact as the company continues to grow globally.

The People Relations function works closely with business leaders to align workforce priorities with company goals. The team focuses on creating an employee experience where people are included, challenged, developed, recognized, and rewarded.

What you will do

  • Deliver both strategic guidance and hands-on support to business leaders across multiple people topics.
  • Work with leaders on talent planning, including identifying high-potential employees, leadership development needs, and succession planning.
  • Shape workforce planning, organizational design, and team structure in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Support employees through a consultative approach to help improve working relationships, career direction, and overall effectiveness.
  • Own and drive company-wide projects and initiatives with broad impact.
  • Serve as an advocate for employees while also supporting business priorities.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members through shadowing, guidance, and development support.

What Braze is looking for

  • Experience as a full-time HR business partner, ideally with 5+ years in SaaS or another business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and employee relations.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • A self-driven, leadership-oriented approach that earns trust from others.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Comfort working with stakeholders at all levels and adapting communication style to the audience.

Compensation and total rewards

For candidates in the United States, the expected base pay at the start of employment is between $86,000 and $129,000 per year. Expected On Target Earnings (OTE), including bonus or commission, are between $95,000 and $143,000 per year. Final compensation may vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This role is also eligible for a broader Total Rewards package, including restricted stock units (RSUs), giving employees a share in the company’s success.
