Job description
Role Overview
This is a United States-based People Business Partner role focused on commercial and operations teams. Acting as a strategic HR advisor, you will connect people strategy with business execution and help ensure that culture, performance, and talent practices are built into everyday operations.
The position calls for someone who can work confidently in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment, balancing employee needs with business priorities while navigating complex organizational situations. You will partner with leaders to improve team design, strengthen management capability, and support workforce plans that match changing business needs.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as the main HR partner for commercial and operations leadership, developing strong working relationships and advising on organization design, leadership effectiveness, and team health.
- Turn people strategy into practical execution so HR programs stay aligned with business goals across assigned teams.
- Support workforce planning and contribute to annual operating plans, helping ensure the organization structure fits current and future needs.
- Run performance management activities such as reviews, talent calibration, feedback processes, and compensation discussions for employees up to senior director level.
- Coach managers on leadership skills, delivering feedback, and managing people effectively.
- Handle employee relations support by addressing early issues like conflict, performance concerns, and policy questions, while escalating more complex situations when needed.
- Help embed culture, engagement, recognition, and DEI initiatives within client groups so they remain connected to company values.
- Work with Talent Acquisition on hiring plans, role scoping, interview alignment, and offer coordination.
- Partner with Learning & Development to identify capability gaps and support targeted learning solutions.
- Coordinate with HR Operations to maintain accurate employee records, lifecycle processes, and clean system data across HRIS tools.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role, ideally in consumer-packaged goods, food & beverage, or mission-driven organizations.
- Hands-on experience running performance management cycles, including reviews, calibration sessions, and compensation conversations.
- Ability to independently manage employee relations issues and make sound decisions about when to escalate.
- Proven success in coaching managers and influencing leadership behaviors across an organization.
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to connect people strategy with operational and business objectives.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex HR topics in simple terms to different audiences.
- Experience working across HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and HR Operations.
- Working familiarity with HRIS and performance management systems such as Workday, Rippling, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment with competing demands.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and contributing effectively in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline preferred; PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification is an added advantage.
Benefits
- Remote-first setup with occasional company or team meetups.
- Competitive base pay plus eligibility for an annual bonus.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage with strong employer support.
- Generous time off, including unlimited PTO and paid holidays.
- Paid parental leave and family support resources.
- Wellness and mental health support, including employee assistance programs.
- Monthly internet and mobile phone stipends.
- Annual allowances for wellness, learning, and lifestyle needs.
- Employee discounts and occasional product-related perks.
- Volunteer time off and paid civic engagement leave.
- A mission-driven environment centered on social impact and collaboration.
