About the Role and Company
Modern Family Law is a specialized boutique firm focusing on Family Law, committed to fostering a family-oriented culture with comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation. They are seeking a compassionate and highly organized People and Culture Specialist to lead onboarding and offboarding initiatives remotely, supporting smooth transitions for employees across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full spectrum onboarding activities from offer acceptance through the initial 90 days to ensure a seamless employee experience.
- Act as the main liaison for new employees during onboarding and orientation phases, ensuring a positive and well-structured process.
- Organize orientation schedules, coordinate documentation, and handle logistics across multiple departments.
- Collaborate closely with Learning & Development, IT, Payroll, Operations, and leadership to guarantee timely preparation for new hires, including system access and equipment allocation.
- Oversee and execute all offboarding processes from notice given to final departure, managing documentation, access removals, and equipment recovery.
- Conduct and document exit and stay interviews, analyze trends, and contribute to continuous improvements in the onboarding/offboarding workflows.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures, workflows, tracking tools and maintain thorough records for consistency and scalability.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Assist with managing internal employee transitions, organizational changes, and other People & Culture projects.
- Create and maintain training materials and resources related to onboarding processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee data.
- Perform other duties as assigned by People & Culture leadership to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be equipped to work remotely with reliable internet and suitable home workspace.
- Minimum education required: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Psychology, Humanities or related field is preferred.
- At least four years of relevant experience in onboarding, offboarding, employee experience or HR coordination roles.
- Experience managing onboarding/offboarding procedures with various stakeholders, ideally in legal, professional services, or multi-state fast-growing organizations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, Zoom, and familiarity with HRIS or onboarding platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.

Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly salary range between $31.25 and $38.46 depending on experience, location, and other factors.
