Overview
Avoca Ireland is looking for a meticulous and proactive Payroll Specialist to handle accurate and timely payroll processing across operations in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The role requires ensuring adherence to statutory legislation and internal company policies while collaborating closely with HR, Finance, and store management teams in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage weekly payroll processing for ROI and Northern Ireland operations, meeting all deadlines and accuracy standards.
- Maintain and update payroll and time management records utilizing software such as Microsoft Office, Sage Payroll, and Kronos.
- Calculate various pay components, including absences, statutory payments, deductions, tips, service charges, and night shifts.
- Ensure compliance with Revenue (ROI) and HMRC (UK) regulations, including necessary submissions and reports.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly.
- Facilitate pension processing and administration of payroll-related benefits.
- Support both internal and external audits by preparing detailed payroll reports and relevant documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and comply with GDPR regulations.
- Contribute to ongoing payroll process and system improvements.
- Ensure timely updates and thorough verification of payroll data.
- Respond professionally and promptly to employee payroll inquiries.
- Guarantee accurate payments aligned with the company's payment schedule.
- Escalate issues to the Payroll Manager or Finance Director when necessary.
- Prepare personnel-related forms and letters as required.
Requirements
- At least three years of payroll experience, specifically managing payroll for both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
- Comfortable operating within a busy payroll department.
- Advanced proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
- IPASS qualification or an equivalent certification is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory obligations in ROI and/or NI/UK.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as Sage Payroll and time management platforms like Kronos.
