Job description

Position Overview

Join our People Operations team at Sulzer GmbH across our offices in Munich, Ingolstadt, Stuttgart, or Magdeburg as a Payroll Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and reviewing monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with tax and social security regulations, and managing payroll-related communications and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle and verify monthly payroll processing accurately.
  • Maintain, update, and create personnel and payroll records in DATEV LODAS system.
  • Implement tax and social security legal changes, including submitting DEÜV and wage tax notifications.
  • Manage special payroll-related matters such as short-time work.
  • Liaise with health insurance providers, governmental authorities, and external contacts while collaborating with sister companies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Sulzer’s payroll processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong expertise in payroll accounting, wage tax, and social security law.
  • Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing payroll data.
  • Confident in handling DEÜV reports, social security notifications, and wage tax returns.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with DATEV LODAS and DATEV data analysis tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Methodical, precise, self-reliant work approach combined with high numerical aptitude and responsibility.
