About the Register
The Pay/Personnel Officer Employment Register serves as a pool of qualified and skilled candidates ready to support the Department of Health, Tasmania with fixed-term assignments on short notice. This register remains open until June 30, 2027, and applications will be periodically reviewed. Note that this register does not prevent other Pay/Personnel Officer roles from being advertised separately as needed.
Position Overview
This role offers a challenging and flexible opportunity to contribute to a significant payroll operation that processes payments for approximately 16,000 employees every two weeks. As a Pay/Personnel Officer within the department, you will engage in varied administrative activities related to payroll and personnel management, gaining valuable experience within a substantial government department environment.
Key Duties
- Perform diverse tasks connected to pay and personnel functions within the Department of Health.
- Support the current payroll team by providing assistance when required, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Essential Requirements
- Pre-employment checks mandated by the Head of the State Service must be satisfied before appointment, promotion, or transfer.
- These checks include evaluation of any convictions related to crimes of violence, sex offenses, serious drug offenses, and crimes involving dishonesty.
- Identification verification and assessment of previous employment disciplinary actions are also required.
