Patient Sitter - Float Pool, Nights

Overview

This is a full-time night role based at the Augusta facility. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts and may include some weekends.

Role summary

The Patient Sitter provides continuous observation for patients who have been identified as confused, aggressive, at risk of self-harm, or likely to fall. The role supports patient safety by staying alert to changes and promptly informing the assigned nurse when concerns arise. This position works under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the patient’s care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients assigned for close observation due to confusion, combative behavior, self-harm risk, or fall risk.
• Remain attentive to patient condition and safety needs throughout the shift.
• Escalate concerns to the staff nurse whenever appropriate.
• Carry out duties under the direction of the nurse overseeing the patient’s care.

Qualifications

Applicants should have either a high school diploma or a GED. No prior work experience is needed, and no licenses or certifications are required.
